IGI is a private equity company founded in 1997 by Giorgio Cirla. In 2006 Giorgio Cirla, Enrico Palandri and Paolo Merlano acquired 100% of IGI through a management buyout. Since then IGI has been completely independent. Overall, IGI has launched five funds investing in around 60 small- and mid-cap Italian companies, supporting the entrepreneurs in defining the best strategies for the business. In April 2013 IGI acquired Arca Impresa Gestioni SGR, a well-known private equity firm with characteristics, positioning and strategies similar to IGI. Following this acquisition, IGI now manages more than € 250 million through its funds, raised with both institutional and private investors in Italy and abroad.
